at the very least we are set up to be balanced- people just keep finding ways of getting around checks and breaking balances.

and that is where you are dead wrong. even at its most basic, our justice system is flawed if thats the system your talking about

I don't nessacarily mean the justice system, but more the fact that we are suppose to be protected from a dictator taking over.
we're suppose to have congress watch the president, the president watch congress, the justice department/supreme court watch them both, ect

but lately it seems one of these people can just ignore everyone else- from other officials to regular citizens- and do whatever they want.
