If you really think about it, most don't have the time to think about lofty ideals like assimilation.
How exactly will that work out? Once they are here are they going to form an army and fight their way out of the United States? Are they going to then join up with Mexico?

And by the way the areas hardest hit by illegal/criminal aliens are not their ancestral lands. The lands that they are moving into have noting whatsoever to do with hispanics. If anyone is going to reclaim these lands it would be the Hopi, the Apache, the Pima etc.
That might be the goal for LaRaza, but you haven't made the case that that is the goal for the vast majority of illegal immigrants.
What you have just engaged in is guilt by association. ANd the association is that both groups are made up largely of Mexicans.
So by their mere presence they are "reclaiming"? Don't you think that Americans and the US government will have something to say about it?
As much as I would like to jump on your jingo band wagon I can't. The fact is that there really wasn't all that much fighting and there was a political and financial settlement to that war.

I cannot agrree with this set of comments more, you summed it up very wisely. The connection with La Raza and Mecha is way overblown by far too many people. Even the new president of Mexico has new initiative to do something about jobs in that country to fix the immigration problem. You have to date the problem down there to the old money and lineage dating back to Spain, these people have traditionally not really given a rat's ass about the underclass. What people like to think is racism against a white population in the west is a far more complicated issue than you think.
I dare anyone to look at Southern California and see how fast the ASIAN community is growing. Did you even think of that? It is going crazy there and quite frankly we are better off by that. Those communities value education and bettering the community much more than whites do (on the whole). And yes, Asian gangs do pop up too. The Russian crime syndicate has gone nuts here in the US since the fall of the USSR, is that not an 'invasion' too?
