Dom...confronted downtown by the homeless there was one encounter when this guy got irritated with me becaue I told him to go to the Union Mission (I send money to them, they are equiped to help). He gave some pathetic excuse about how they would not let him in, etc, etc.(I know he was wrong, and they don't even hand out crosses). I don't dig it and just walk away, the help does exists in the best way. Look, no matter how they got into the situation there are very good means for the person to get a leg up.

Now, if there is truly a problem with a psychological problem of severe physical disability then we REALLY do need to provide those services for people. That is incredibly important. I have two students that I have encountered who are incredibly talented but have severe problems and could be on the street if they did not have parents who take care of them. When the parent die, who is responsible?
