I view it like this... The world is not a level playing field. There will always be someone on the bottom rungs of the socio-economic ladder. Some people are fat, some are smarter, some are in better health than others, different racial backgrounds, etc. My point is this... these are all obstacles we must deal with on an individual basis and overcome on our own terms. Its the desire to these individual hurdles that define us from one another. No amount of Affirmative Action (racial profiling ) or upping of the minimum wage will change the basic character of an individual.
