Oregon has begun a campaign to claim ownership of not only the bottom of the river but also the waters running through the river and all the fish or other items that may be found in the river. If someone is moving downstream (or upstream as the case may be) some yuppie land owners are claiming you are trespassing on their property and will not let fishermen pass through. Several people have been arrested for trespass and there has been one case of a shooting over this issue (so much for the peace and love of the Maharishi Yogi in Oregon)

The ultimate end of all this will be fly fishing in Oregon rivers (and we all know this will eventually spill over to other states as well) will be returned to the elite who can buy large expanses of river property. The "poor man's sport" of fishing will be no more.

Anyone from Oregon wish to comment????
Kix this was very much a partisan issue in Oregon. Yes do not pretend ignorance...do you see his comment on the Maharishi Yogi in Oregon. He is referring to me as a Democrat and continually starts provocative threads with no research. I usually do not bother with him but because I enjoy outdoor recreation this intrigued me. He was attacking what he thought was a liberal poster in a blue state. If he had bothered to do some fact checking it was a partisan battle with republicans backing the elite so my link and post were indeed pertinent to his post.Do you really believe Nathan would have posted this had he understood the issues and who was tring to infringe on fishermans rights?

So Kix what is your opinion of Nathans thread? Do you think the republican stance of restricting river access should pass? It is political and partisan and Nathan posted it. Nathan fears this trend will spread to his state...well it might unless his state elects lawmakers that stand for citizens rights.Nathan began the thread by saying "Oregon" is trying to do something terrible to fisherman.

Please note Kix his last 3 threads on "Oregon" were full of misinformation and personal attacks on me and I did not waste my time on him or respond. This thread captured my interest because of the topic.
