As far as God making someone rich . . . doubt it. I think it is usually the person who betters their own economic status through decisions that they make. Personal accountability is key. Some don't like that, but it doesn't make it less true.

Additionally (as I noted at the top), capitalism has a lot of the characteristics of religion, including adherence to unprovable dogma. I come from a more pragmatic school which contends that if capitalism solves problems within portions of an economy, use it. If socializing a part of the economy works better, then go with that. I ain't "religiously" tied into either.
