1) A democratically elected government that enables Iraq to return to normal international relations. A government that has fair representation for all of the sectarian groups & categorically rejects Islamic extremism. This was not possible under the previous regime.

2) A secure Iraq with a self sufficient, well equipped, and well trained military and police force. One that is capable of repelling terrorist groups and outsiders (Iranians) who are looking to create havoc on it's infrastructure, it's people, and it's government.

3) The re establishment and production of Iraq's natural resources, with the net proceeds being invested in the people, infrastructure, and future of Iraq. This was not a possibility or a reality under the previous regime.

4) The establishment of a long term alliance between Iraq and the US, which insures a permanent US military and civilian presence in the region for peacekeeping, advisory, and security purposes.

5) The timely and peaceful withdrawal of US combat forces who leave behind a stable and secure environment for the Iraqi people to control their own destiny. This was not possible under the previous regime.

6) Ticker tape parade through the canyon of heroes for returning US troops who have voluntarily answered the call of duty and performed their mission in heroic fashion. Every American should be proud of their duty, honor, and courage and welcome them home in victory rather than defeat.
well that will never happen in your life time.
