In 1982, there were 301 refineries operating in the US.

When that one is finished, that would bring the total number of operating refineries to 150, IF NO MORE ARE SHUTDOWN because they don't have oil to process.

The good news is that the new refinery would bring the input capacity back up to the peak level, in 1982.

What I can't figure out is why no one talks about the 150 refineries shutdown after Reagan's election....
