I think you have it backwards and McCain is going to clean Obama's clock. We all know Obama talks a good game, he has dutifully studied the MLK videos and got the cadence down just right. But take away the scripted rhetoric and it becomes crystal clear that he's an empty suit. Give him an Emmy, not the WH...
McCain on the other hand has thrived in the Town Hall format and is much more relaxed in a spontaneous debate. He knows exactly what he's doing by pulling Obama away from giving speeches and forcing him to answer impromptu questions that aren't teed up for him by liberal news pundits.
I sincerely hope Obama takes McCain up on this offer, but he's already hedging and asking for a filibuster style format where he can just keep repeating his scripted catch phrases without offering any substance.
