The Bible says that life is in the blood.

Many pro-choicers have pointed out that even using the Bible, abortion should be permitted in the first few weeks before there is blood and a heart pumping it.

But, there is nothing specific about when a soul is transferred to its host.

I haven't researched, but I'm betting that in Biblical times, most people probably thought the soul entered with the first breath...?
