They rioted in Somalia recently to get food, simple as that. If they make a point to the government while doing so it is secondary to the goal of getting food. See, when people are hungry eating is a tad bit more important than making political statements.

The goal of a free society is for people to make their own decisions and to strive towards getting 'things' - if one chooses to do so. It is not a negative. If you think it is then you are fucking delusional.
Democracy works because people have a choice.
Perhaps you are talking about capitalism, you seem to be confused.
Either way, both democracy and capitalism are superior to the alternatives.
Any system in which people are generally happy are going to be successful. That is one of government's goals. Get it?
