I do however take serious offense at the quick reaction people take that automatically make the Police instantly guilty by public opinion until they are proved innocent. The same holds true with our servicemen and women wearing military uniform. Automatically guilty by public opinion has got to stop. A great deal of public opinion being so fast to cast guilt is how a story is portrayed or written which leads the viewer/reader intentionally one direction or the other, often times having so few facts.

No it is not the same. We have far too many witnesses and video of police being less than "friendly" to citizens of this country on a regular basis and rarely does a cop go punished.
We have given these people more power than they should have. They can ride rough shod over the Constitution and get away with it. They can use excessive force and get away with it.
Trust me, if you or I used that taser on that kid because we thought he was harming us, we would be sued and we would lose in court. But put a badge on someone and they now have special rights and we allow it.
So the next time a person with a badge and an attitude roughs you up you will know why.
As for arresting someone, that does not mean you are guilty of anything. And frankly if someone were harming me for no reason, badge or not, I am going to defend myself, it is my right as an American and a human being. Period.
