"Appeasement" as a campaign issue ...
Rightwingers can surely dream up some pretty darn goofy campaign issues, can't they? I wasn't there, but I'd bet "appeasement" was an issue in Richmond before the Civil War. "We can't appease the Yanks, those godless liberals will take away our niggers."
But, before we forget, Chamberlain was a member of the British Conservative Party, and it was the Republicans in the U.S. House and Senate who fought Roosevelt tooth and nail about getting us into WWII. Remember WWII? Remember when there was a REAL Hitler.
I think Republicans (Bush and McCain) ought to drop the 'appeasement' issue. They are looking like village idiots.
