rob, in ancient Greece they had this word, its was arete. Arete's definition changed, first in the days of the early city states physical brute strength was the ideal, was arete. It changed, instead, to worship next the strategic and clever mind, kings of course by this time emerged from mere tribal gangs to control armies. In America for some reason arete is money and pop-culture instead of intelligence and willpower. I personally don't see it that way, and of course America being as diverse as it is there are people out there like myself who think that what makes a person worth talking to are their wits and will. Too bad I'm not the majority.
