quick question, if people are being reincarnated how are their more people now than in the past. Some people are just new souls? Whats with this clearly over the top ridiculous understanding of the world? Souls can be new and eternal? Or what? I don't get this line of thinking, it makes no sense.

I will reiterate a few points for you.
1- some believe reincarnation isn't a permanent state
(and some go further to say that not all souls are created at the same time. this theory explains over population since obviously not enough souls are passing on)
2- some believe only those who die tramaticly or obscurly are reincarnated. (think about a soul too freaked out after death to pass on and is given a second chance... or as I pointed out benign possestion by a wandering soul
