I think you are suffering from time compression syndrome. Decades usually pass between great philosophical breakthroughs. Just because we are in a lull now, doesn't mean that anything is over. Saying that "philosophy is over" would be like someone saying after Kant but before Hegal, "well Kant summed it all up.
