I wouldn't fire a guy for that, but it is a personal choice. I know some of the guys I have had working for me in the past (and at least one presently) have had guns in their vehicles, some even though they were legally never allowed to have a gun permit again.

Agreed. If I want to get rid of someone there are ways of doing so.

Agreed, and not just about gun control laws.

Is this right? It kind of depends on which side of the termination you're on. Myself, I wouldn't want to work where I'm not wanted, nor would I keep a job where I was required to follow policies or procedures I felt were wrong or infringed on MY RIGHTS.

Doesn't matter what laws are out there, one can still find planty of reasons to get rid of someone without appearing to violate any of them.

Bullshit. What if he has drugs in the car, wouldn't that be a concern?
I make it my business to know who is working for me, I don't care if you do or not.

Yep, but what if they don't park in your parking lot?
Either way, it doesn't matter. You can still get rid of them.

Slippery slope there Georgie. Using your logic, you'll be wanting to take his gun out of his home next.

If he got in his car and drove home then he would have time to think about what he was doing. He would be less likely to "come back and settle" it after thinking abut consequences on the drive home.
People sometimes do things in the spur of the moment than they wouldn't otherwise do.
