No, I've been a student my entire life. They need to read their own material. They need to think about their class and the curriculum as more than a set of rules and basic tasks to photocopy out of a teaching manual. They need to prove they have a more than general knowledge on a particular subject before they teach it. They need to learn how to speak well to a classroom, instead of using videos and group discussions to save them any prep work. They need to come up with assignments that are more than just busy work, and tests that are more than just memorize and repeat. If I personally taught a class, no matter the subject, even one like Chemistry which I am clueless about, I would work tirelessly to provide my class with an authentic and positive learning experience. I have no memories of being out of school, so trust me when I say my understanding of the shittiness of teachers is completely fresh, like a morning turd.
Good teachers I've had excelled in their discipline, these teachers could be counted on my fingers. Most teachers are as clueless as a parent is, with the same sense of blind authority and insecurity, perpetuated in a culture in which, for some weird reason, teachers rule students. I don't take shit anymore, I've had too many crappy teachers when I was a child to let one push me around now.
I park in the teacher parking cause fuck em, they don't pay for this shit, why do they always get the better parking?
