As for "explosion created the human conscience", it didn't. In that it appears that the universe is 12 billion years old or so, and human consciousness has probably only been around for about 40K years, hard to say that one caused the other.

The book's full title is On the Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection, or the Preservation of Favoured Races in the Struggle for Life, while for the 6th edition of 1872 the title was changed to The Origin of Species.
The Preservation of favored races?
Is Darwin speaking of God favoring certain races?
