What does it matter? Who are you to ask if it is fair to the other 17 children? It is their choice.

1) I can ask whatever I want to ask. I have certain inalienable rights. Among those is the right to ask questions.
2) Doesn't matter if the parents can
afford 18 kids. Eighteen kids leave a HUGE carbon footprint and strain our precious resources.
3) How does a kid get the individual attention he/she REQUIRES/DESERVES with 17 siblings and working parents? I assume that's the 'fairness' question you had in mind.
