Please list for me, if you would.... how many times you've fought a war in Iraq, how many times you've seen first-hand how much progress has been made, and how many dead soldiers/marines/airmen you know personally. Then, on a scale of one to ten, rate what right you have to use a fucking number as a fitting representaion of my friends' sacrifice. Discuss.

change.

We'll worry about bringing eachother home alive. You worry about hackey-sack. Shut the fuck up.

"Paul", when you are/were there, and loose/lost dear friends & comrades, it does really become very personal. I know that, I was there & did that (different war/different time/same thing).

It is personal most definately: but it is NOT exclussively personal: the Nation as a whole has a responsibility to care & become involved; and a responsibility to speak out to the matters at hand.

Unfortunately sometimes "speaking out" is not as reverent as it should be: I was hit in the face with a snowball when in uniform escorting a fallen friend home I stepped off the plane in 1973, that was not very reverent. I was pretty angry, eventually I realized that the thrower was out of bounds & wrong, but in the end the notion & belief that the war was not good for the Nation was the privilage of every American. ...(paul)
