But, if I recall, they were just temporary migrant workers. They worked during the crop season and then went back to Mexico. It least that's how it worked in Michigan. The farmers actually had a road with about 10 houses it where the migrants lived. But, technology has advanced in the last 20 years and alot of farm work is now done by machine.
