Explosions lower down would have prevented most people from escaping, but pretty much everyone below where the airliners crashed escaped (except the brave firemen who were going up).

And the belief that Bush has sparked "anti arab" violence is idiotic. Bush has gone out of his way, indeed went far beyond any reasonable standard to tell the American public that the terrorists only represent a small minority of arabs (even though polls tell us differently). He further has always made sure to claim that the terrorists do not represent "true islam", even though, again polls show the opposite.
