Compensation for all the crap that gets poured their way. Do you think teachers would leave in droves if they were supported? No.
Do you think that teachers would leave in droves if the job wasn't so physically dangerous in some districts? No.
Do you think that teachers would leave in droves if they had parental participation and support in the education of children? No.
Teachers, nowadays, need compensation in the same way that soldiers get hazardous duty pay.

How about the FACT that intelligent people are not going to flock to a thankless job where the children expect to be entertained, the parents expect a babysitter, and people like you call the majority pedophiles and the rest lazy.

I have NEVER seen a teacher's union present teaching as if it were some labor job. NEVER. Teaching is a calling, a profession. But you are welcome to try to prove me wrong.

Very nice. Now...how do you measure teachers by the product...the product that is another human being. A product that that teacher sees only about one hour a day, about 180 days a year (if the kid shows up), and is not in control of that product's background, motivation, and other baggage?
But, of course, it's all the teachers' fault.
