Question for anyone...
I spent over 34,000 dollars in 2007 disposing properly of metals, blood, body tissues, contaminated surgical supplies etc. Fifty years ago I could have just dumped it in the river or ocean. Those damn feds and environmentalists passed legislation and now I have to incinerate or pay for proper disposal. The politics of fear has hurt my bottom line. Obviously this is sarcasm as far as my values..I would dispose of medical wastes properly regardless of laws..yet not everyone would. Is this an infringement on my rights? I mean really, most likely nothing would come of it if I just dumped it in a water supply or even buried in a hole somewhere. I mean really-if a local company that makes far more than I do feels infringed upon if they have to install something to reduce air pollution and they cry "politics of fear" should we all have such freedoms? Why are some industries outraged if they have to do some small part to leave the earth in the best possible condition for the next generation. Hospitals that follow federal guidelines spend millions to avoid polluting water, air and soil supplies. This all began with environmentalists. Do you think their concern was valid? Were they just fear mongering in the healthcare industry?
