No law abiding citizen in Chicago has ever used a firearm in self defense or to "scare off" a burglar? Never even deterred a potential intruder? Quit trying to convince people that anti-gun laws prevent crimes. The Chicago murder rate and felony assault rate disproves that theory. It boils down to the fact that criminals, by their very nature, don't obey the laws. Therefore, only the law abiding are disarmed, making them an easier target for the criminals.
