We don't HAVE life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness...we're just assured that the Government doesn't have the authority take away our RIGHTS to those things. Whether we achieve and keep those things is up to us. Nobody is guaranteed life, liberty, or happiness, you're just guaranteed a shot at it. Unless you're the unwanted spawn of an immoral mother who spread her legs and made her choice to create you, then decided you weren't worth her bother. Then you aren't guaranteed a shot at anything.
