Since I'm not Bruce Lee or Chuck Norris - I fail to see what 'social skill' or combat skill could have saved me from harm.
I'm pretty sure three weeks in the hospital and eight weeks with my jaw wired shut could have been avoided if I'd had a concealed carry permit back then.

That's a shame you can not legally protect yourself.
I have been threatened twice. I ask them why they bring a stick or bat to a gun fight. They get scared and walk away.
Both times, I was not carrying a gun.
I have always wondered why they never ask to see my gun?
