Well, the people wanted to run themselves. I would side with them on this. It would be denying our own American heritage to do so.
I agree, a lot of the problems in Eastern Europe are trivial and just ancient bigotry and left overs of feudalism from the countless wars and interventionism from the Ottomans, Russians, Germans, and Austrians.
It is a waste, I see no reason why Serbia should kick up a fuss about it. The people have spoken.
