Yeah, I didn't say that I'd stop whackin' folks over the head with good ol common sense, but I think posts are so impersonal that its easy to dismiss someone out-of-hand than to really consider their ideas. That's why, I believe, much more is accomplished in this area when folks come together in face-to-face situations.

There's another forum I post on and they get together on a regular basis. No one is at each other's throats and everyone talks about the things they have in common rather than their differences. That adds a human element to future discussions when we go back and post our POVs. We're less likely to come down on someone with both feet when we remember the person behind the post.

That's JMO.
