Yep, Sams post touches on the Balanced perspective of Going to War and Why Humans will and do Continue to make War. I think that it is the Absence OF Love that leads to Greed in Advancing Warring Notions of Nations to take or Make Power for Benefit of the Victor.... THEN Love Steps up to the Plate as Fathers and Sons, Mothers and Daughters go forth as an Insulation for Family and Home from the Aggressor..
Without Greed there would be No war on Earth and without Love there would be no Army.
So Singularly, Love can and Does go to war, but is not the Cause of it, but rather the Lack of Enough Group or Majority Love to prevent the Agression of the Powerbrokers or so called Leaders we choose, or who Chose us, or took from us...
