The sanctions against Iran have been in place since 1979 and no President has lifted the sanctions - first step in an open dialogue. There are reasons for this.
Tell me, what election by the people or whatever created and established the State of Israel? Compare the process that resulted in the creation of Israel with the sequence of events that created the democratic Islamic Republic of Iran?

For example, when did the people for to draft a constitution establishing a Jewish state, and what was the vote? Then what was the vote for the ratification of the constitution?

Perhaps you can make a case for the State of Israel having at least the same legitimacy as the Islamic Republic of Iran, but I doubt it.

(I don't consider Israel to be any more or less legitimate from the perspective of the UN than Iran, or for that matter, Iraq with Saddam as dictator, and I sure wish that Bush wasn't claiming that he has any principles when he declares elected officials to be dictators and the military dictators to democratic. Given Bush praising the military coup overthrowing a democratic Pakistani government, his position on the elected, and increasingly unpopular president of Iran with much much much less power than the Pakistani dictator. If Iran had nukes, which it doesn't, and I am positive Iran is not trying to make, the president of Iran would not have any power to use them, while the the military dictator of Pakistan not only has nukes, but he has the power to order them used.)
