Shall we talk to them keeping up the pretense that the US isn't a state sponsor of terrorism? Wouldn't that be a bit difficult given the record of state sponsored terrorism in Iraq by the terrorist CIA organization in overthrowing a democracy in Iran and installing a brutal dictator that imprisoned, tortured, and killed those who sought a return to democracy in Iran.
And how many governments has Iran toppled since the restoration of a democratic Islamic Republic in December 1979 compared to the number of governments the US has toppled in that time?
And how many times has Iran openly supported and defended against charges of the war crimes of using prohibited chemical weapons against nations attacking and invading the US?
Or do you consider the US supporting and defending Saddam ordering an Iraqi attack without provocation and invasion of Iran, and using chemical weapons in that eight year war to be in the spirit of American ideals?
How about in the spirit of Republican Party ideals?
And do you think that it was wrong for Iran to seek the extradition of the Shah so he could be tried for crimes against the people of Iran just as Saddam was recently tried for crimes against the people of Iraq? Was it wrong for the US to invade Panama just to extradite its president, Noriega, and try him for drug crimes?
For you to make the statement you have, you are either
- ignorant of history
- totally without any principles at all willing to say anything to wield power
- a moral, ethical, and/or political relativist with your values changing to achieve the outcome you want.
