George W. Bush would not have gone to Vietnam even if he had not served in the Guard. He served and his service was honorable. President Bush flew more hours in the Guard than even some active duty pilots.

Did I say that? Nowhere did I say that. I pointed out the ratio between number of personnel that served in Nam and the number that were Guard. I was there in the late 60s and everyone knew why people joined the guard.
Perhaps I should have said The Guard stood a better chance of not going to Nam than a Regular Army member or even a Reservist
