Not doubting the validity of this info, but I did read some time ago that armoring hummers made them almost unmaneuverable due to the added weight of the armor. It seemed the faster they made them, the worse they were. Don't know.....

Also, during the VN War, the Sec. of Defense, McNamara HATED the Boeing Co. and refused to give Boeing ANY defense contracts. Perhaps this is the same kind of thing in reverse. People go against those they hate and reward those they like disregarding regulations.
