No, No, No...I'm not backing out - bet's on. rob, you've got to understand that I would gladly buy you a hat if Rudy doesn't back down and wins. A Rudy win, a no back down win, means that you've cowed the religious right in your party. That type of win brings the Republican party more to the moderate side then the Democrat party, making it the better of the two partys, IMHO.
But it's a pipe dream. Just as the Dem's are saddled with Planned Parenthood, you are saddled with the RR. We can buck PP on certain, small races - just as you can with the RR. But this is POTUS, the leader of the free world and symbol for our country. Did you read and/or listen to the rants of the right - Limbaugh, Robertson, Falwell, Coulter and others said about Clinton and his stance on Abortion? How 'bout rechecking the fight here in Missouri over Stem Cells and the power of the RR.
Just as Dems' are going to be hemmed in, we MUST elect a PRO-CHOICE candidate. Your side WILL NOT be able to elect a pro-choice candidate. Ergo no Rudy, unless he recants. Rudy's lost and just doesn't know it yet. Because, believe it or not, when Robertson, Falwell, Graham and others refuse to "stump" for him, he loses his base. The RR won't vote Democrat, but they will stay home. It's how we won last year, RR voters stayed home.
