Rudy would have to court the RR. Ergo, he will "lose" his Moderate moniker. If that happens the Moderates in the Democratic party will run back home. Now, if Rudy can win the nomination and the Republicans can push the RR to the side, I think he'll win. He'll get Moderates from both sides and the RR will stay home, voting for niether Rudy or ANY Dem.

But that would be a fundemental change for the party. Such a change would alienate, totally alienate the RR. Because if Rudy sticks by his guns and continues to be Pro-Abortion / Pro-Gay Rights / Pro-Stem Cell and let's his affair and divorce continue not to be an issue he'll get Moderates from both sides. But McCain caved, and is actively courting the RR. I just don't think Rudy's stronger then McCain.

Your party is going to be stuck with a candidate that's hoping to bridge the Moderates with the RR, i.e. someone that Falwell and Robertson can support. That kills Rudy, UNLESS he backpeddles - then he'll no longer be a Moderate.
Dead, great informative post. I think you are just trying to back out of your bet that we have. I don't see Rudy backpeddling and if he does, he has lost my vote.
