I don't really see the point of the VA legislature doing this. Not one of them ever owned a slave. Not one slave any of their ancestors might've owned is still alive. It's an empty gesture. We are responsible for what we personally do, not for what our ancestors did. I suppose I'd have to apologize to myself, since I had ancestors on both sides of that.
